Magical dolls to weave on the Stick
Weaving Loom

This workshop will show you
how magical, wonderful dolls
can be woven with just 6 little
sticks!

Yes! It's probably one of the simplest
looms on earth, but -
Noreen Crone-Findlay's mastery of
sticks and string
has unlocked the doll making
potential of the Weaving Stick loom!
Even though the loom is so simple,
the creative potential for weaving
amazing, one of a kind dolls is
totally unlimited!

Manner of Magical Origami Bags


Noreen loves origami, and she loves making bags of all
descriptions, so it's natural to blend these two loves
into designing and making all manner of fabulous bags,
using origami techniques.
This workshop is all about thinking outside the box with
simple small loom weaving in creating truly delightful
bags, pouches, business card pouches, purses,
totes, furoshiki carriers, clutches, envelope
bags, amulet bags and more.
Please bring: A
notebook and pen, a ball or two of yarn, cord, or fabric
strips, and some embellishments like embroidery threads,
buttons, beads, found objects, scissors, needle and
thread, darning or tapestry needle.
Optional, but oh so
much fun: Bring some fabric that you would like
to use in a new way.
(Have a worn out garment that you love and would like to
upcycle? Perfect!)

Kits are available from Noreen.
Never woven on a small
loom before? Not to worry, Noreen will have you
weaving in no time flat!
Wear Your Weaving



How can you weave things that you can wear?
Small loom weaving will have you creating woven
garments and embellishments that go beyond just
shawls and scarves. When you weave on small looms, you
can shape your woven modules to fit together with
little or no cutting. Learn how to make your small
looms work for you in creating unique garments -
dresses, tunics, shirts, hats, vests, and jackets,
etc.
Not ready to commit to weaving a full garment?
No problem! Learn how to combine woven elements with
sewing, knitting, crochet, spool knitting, tatting or
embroidery to make one of a kind garments and
accessories.
Please bring: A potholder
loom or other small looms, yarn or thread, a box of
straight pins, scissors, needle and thread, darning or
tapestry needle and please feel free to bring
along woven squares, triangles or inkle bands that you
have already woven and are wondering how to turn them
into garments or accessories.
Cross Current Vests:
Versatile Vests that bring together
many techniques
to create one of a kind garments!

Vests are versatile garments that have endless
potential for embellishment.
Join Noreen in a Cross Currents voyage of discovery as
she shows you how to create wonderful vests with small
looms, crochet, knitting, spool knitting, and other
optional methods of embellishment.
No matter what your size, Noreen will show you how to
get the perfect fit for your Cross Currents vest.
You can create any kind of vest that your heart
desires, from an elegant, understated
vest
to
a
wildly
exuberant
work
of
free
form
artistry.
Homework: Workshop
Participants will be asked to create modules (woven,
and/or knitted, and/or crocheted) before the class.
Noreen will need to be in email contact with workshop
participants before the workshop to talk with them
about their homework.
Please bring: Small loom (Potholder loom, and/or small
frame loom), and if you have a band loom, then that is
great (Inkle, belt loom, Cricket, Ashford Knitters
Loom or other narrow loom), shuttles, yarn or thread,
a box of safety pins, crochet hooks, spool knitter,
scissors, needle and thread, darning or tapestry
needle . Optional but fun: Flower looms, beads,
charms, buttons, found objects that you'd like to
incorporate into your vest.
Note: This workshop is an excellent choice to
complement the 'From T-shirt to Template to Fabulous
Fit' workshop.
From T-shirt to Template to
Fabulous Fit

Do you have trouble making your knitted, crocheted or
woven garments fit you properly?
Would you like to design your own one of a kind
garment in knitting, crochet or small loom
weaving?
Then this workshop is for you!
Noreen will show you how to take a t-shirt
and turn it into a template
that you will then use to create fabulous, one of a
kind garments that fit you, beautifully, comfortably,
no matter what your size or shape!
Please
Bring:At least one t-shirt that you
WILL be cutting up; scissors; needle and thread;
ruler or tape measure; straight pins and safety
pins, duct tape
This workshop can be presented as a 3 or 6 hour
workshop

Level: No previous
experience necessary, but being crafty helps.
Note: This workshop is an excellent choice to
complement the 'Cross Currents Vests' workshop.
Woven
Eco Angel

Eco angels are a wonderful
way to save worn out clothing and other scraps from
the trash heap.
Cut or tear those t shirts or other pieces of clothing
into strips and then weave up an Eco Angel.
The Eco Angels can also be
woven with other 'trashables', like old cassette or
vcr tapes, and even with paper that you can spin on a
spindle- the posibilities are endless!
And, of course, the Eco Angels can also be woven with
yarn, roving fleece and other fibers from your stash.
You can embellish your Eco Angel with all kinds of
found objects from nature or the trash heap- your
imagination is the only limit!
These charming folkloric
angels are quick and easy to weave on either potholder
looms or other small peg looms.
What to bring: A potholder loom or a peg loom;
scissors; darning needle; a weaving hook (a long
crochet or wire hook that reaches from one side
of the loom to the other); a size 'H' or 5 mm crochet
hook; a spindle if you want to spin paper, and old
tissue paper like unused sewing patterns; old pieces
of clothing; cassette tapes or vcr tapes; scraps of
fabric, ribbons, lace or other unused treasures; found
objects from nature like acorn caps or seashells or
stones; found objects like bottle caps, broken jewelry
etc; buttons or charms or beads to trim; thick craft
glue, needles and thread to sew things onto your eco
angel.
Goddess
of the Small Loom Doll

The Goddess of the Small Loom Dolls are woven on
simple small looms,
like a potholder loom, peg loom or frame style
loom.
The arms can either be spool knitted or woven.
The Goddess of the Small Loom is the perfect way
to use small bits of special yarns or fabric strips.
What to bring: A potholder loom, frame or peg
loom; scissors; darning needle; a weaving hook (a long
crochet or wire hook that reaches from one side
of the loom to the other); a size 'H' or 5 mm crochet
hook; a few ounces of yarn; buttons, charms, beads or
found objects to trim.
Tiny Woven Comfort Bear

Everyone
needs a little comfort, now and then- and what could
be better than a tiny handmade teddy?
Tiny? Yes, that is a penny... The Woven
Comfort Bears fit in the palm of your hand!
Learn
how
to make these adorable little woven teddy bears
on a potholder loom.
(NOTE: Kits can be available, as long as Noreen
knows in advance that they are needed.)
What to bring:
A potholder loom; scissors; darning needle;
a size 'H' or 5 mm crochet hook; a few ounces of
yarn;
black embroidery floss; 'e' size black beads for eyes.

Spool knitted Friendship
Dolls:
Spool
knit a token of your friendship!
Make wild and wonderful or sweetly simple
spool knitted friendship dolls for your friends,
family and yourself , too!
Spool knitted dolls are fun to wear as pins or to
decorate hats, bags or cell phones. Noreen will show
you how to make fabulous and fanciful spool knitted
dolls that will delight your friends and spark your
imagination and creativity!
Please Bring:
A spool
knitter; several colors of yarn (approx.
2 oz/50 gm of each color; a small
crochet hook (size 'e' or smaller), scissors;
ruler; tapestry needle, pin backs. Optional:
Buttons, pop cans, paper punches, beads, found
objects, broken jewelry, paper clips

Granny's Lace Is Out of the Box !

Granny's lace
shouldn't be hidden in a box in the back of the
cupboard!
Learn how to combine vintage (and new) doilies,
lace trims, motifs and other elements to create
unique and wearable clothing and accessories. You
won't be damaging your treasures, as the crochet
technique is easily undone, if you decide to
change your mind.
Please bring :Crochet cotton (Size
10 or a similar light weight yarn or thread);
hooks in a range of sizes ; motifs such as
doilies and edgings - (commercial lace works
fine, too), a t shirt that fits you, several
dozen safety pins. Optional, but fun:
Beads; buttons; found objects; charms
Skill Level: Must know how to work
the following crochet stitches: Chains, sc, hdc,
dc

Primrose Woven Dolls
Verity
Primrose is a charming paper doll that you will
dress in woven garments. You'll also learn how to
weave her carpet bag and make her tiny knitting
needles and drop spindle.
Please bring: A potholder loom and
weaving hook, (or Martha Stewart Knit & Weave
Loom), a selection of #4 weight yarns, thick craft
glue, 2 pieces of card stock (like the back of a
pad of paper), scissors, tapestry
needle, scissors, a size 'G' 4 mm crochet hook ,
beads, buttons and charms.

Vintage
Lily Speed-O-Weave Loom:
How to Make a Fabulous
Knitting Bag

Vintage Lily Speed-O-Weave
Looms show up in attics, second hand stores,
and on eBay all the time, mostly without
instructions.
Without the instructions, the
Lily Speed o Weave loom can be very frustrating.
Noreen will show you how they work and how to
create wonderful bags, shawls, and fashion and
home accessories on the Lily Speed o Weave
loom. These looms are contemplative and a
pleasure to work with !
You’ll make a wonderful knitting bag in this
workshop.
Please bring: A Lily Speed-O-Weave loom
(Noreen has extras that she can loan
workshop participants); , yarn, scissors,
tapestry needle, G or H crochet hook, a
spool knitter; a pair of bag handles.
Optional: Buttons, beads, charms, found
objects.
