Wooden Spool Knitters
by Noreen Crone-Findlay and Jim Findlay We are no longer making painted spool knitters, but have a few left. They are one of a kind, turned on the lathe by Jim and painted by Noreen..... They are NOT toys, and are not meant to be used by children. If you would like to see them, send me an email and I can send you a pdf of the remaining spool knitters.    Recently, a jewelry maker contacted me and asked me if I could make her some industrial strength spool knitters so she could spool knit wire for her jewelry making. I went for a rummage through our stash and found a great old handle off something. We inherited it from my husband's Dad more than 10 years ago. I used it to make these 4 and 6 peg spool knitters. Yipes! Is that wood hard! Drilling the holes and hammering the nails in was intense . whew.... The wood is wonderfully 'rustic' from having been upcycled from some hefty old mystery tool. These little spool knitters are rustic, upcycled, vintage-y funky, sturdy, and work great for spool knitting wire. They're about an inch and a half tall and about an inch and a quarter in diameter. $15 each + shipping |
